booker T. Washington He was born as a break ones back but after the emancipation proclamation, he moved with his family to Malden, western hemisphere Virginia. He graduated in 1875 and returned to Malden, where for two long time he taught children in a day school and adults at night. He started working at Wayland Seminary, in 1878, and joined the lag of Hampton. In 1881, Booker T. was selected to hold on a school for blacks at Tuskegee; called Tuskegee Normal. The school was extremely poor and had very little currency in the school inventory to help the school. Tuskegee Normal and industrial Institute became a spacious to his lifes work. 34 years later, it ha d much than 100 buildings, around 1,500 students, a faculty of nearly cc teachers, and a donation of almost $2,000,000. Washington believed that the best interests of black people after the reconstructive memory era could be realize through education.
